The Oberman Foundation
The Oberman Foundation was established in October of 2007 as a qualified charitable trust. The mission of The Oberman Foundation is:
to build, enliven and improve education and faith among under privileged families..
The Oberman Foundation is classified as a private non-operating foundation and plans to be exclusively a grant-making foundation as defined in IRC 4942.
The Oberman Foundation was funded and will continue to be funded primarily by its founders; James Oberman and Jane Oberman, Trustees. The Board of Trustees will further the mission and purposes of the foundation by developing guidelines, policies and procedures for effective governance, management, investment and grant-making.
The Oberman Foundation accomplishes its purposes by establishing an endowment dedicated to grant making as required in IRC 4942. The Oberman Foundation endowment will be managed in accordance with IRC 4944. The Oberman Foundation volunteer their time in order to perpetuate the growth of the foundation, the endowment and ensure compliance with IRC 4941(d). The founders will donate office space and equipment. The Oberman Foundation anticipates 90% of its support in the form of donations from the founders and 10% from investment income. No fund raising activities are planned.
